Kansas City, Missouri, United States, August 2025 – Frances King has taken on the role of Vice President/Chief People Officer at Americo Financial Life and Annuity, marking a return to the organization where she previously served with distinction for over eight years. In her new role, she will lead all facets of Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Benefits, Payroll, Compensation, Facilities, and more, reinforcing Americo’s employee-first approach during a critical phase of growth and innovation.
Prior to this appointment, Frances King was the Chief People Officer at SEGRA, where she spent close to a year shaping and executing the company’s HR strategy. At SEGRA, one of the largest independent commercial fiber companies in the US, she acted as a strategic advisor to the CEO and senior leadership, aligning HR practices with business goals while driving organizational capability and a strong employee experience.
Before joining SEGRA, Frances had an impactful 8-year tenure at Americo Financial Life and Annuity, where she served as Vice President of Human Resources and Development. During this period, she provided strategic oversight of HR operations across multiple areas including recruitment, compensation, benefits, organizational development, and compliance. Her leadership helped solidify Americo’s reputation as an employee-focused organization built on ethical practices and personalized service.
Earlier, she played a pivotal role at Optiv Security, a $2B+ cybersecurity firm formed from the merger of Accuvant and FishNet Security. As Vice President of Human Resources/Talent Management, she led the post-merger integration of HR systems, drove talent acquisition and retention strategies, and significantly reduced time-to-fill hiring metrics while increasing hiring manager satisfaction.
Her earlier experiences include leadership roles at NIC Inc as Director of Human Resources, where she scaled the HR function during a period of rapid growth and led the launch of a company-wide Management Training Program, and at QC Holdings Inc, where she established the organization’s first formal HR strategy. She began her HR leadership journey with Houlihan’s Restaurants, Inc, serving over 14 years and rising to lead both HR and risk management through IPO, expansion, and restructuring phases.
