Francois Basselot Appointed as Managing Director for Egis UK & Ireland

London, United Kingdom, January 2026 – Francois Basselot has stepped into the role of Managing Director for Egis in the UK & Ireland, marking a strategic move to further integrate operations across the two markets. Commenting on his appointment, Basselot emphasized that bringing teams in both countries closer together will enhance Egis’s ability to support clients across transport, water, energy, and the built environment, enabling the delivery of infrastructure that communities depend upon.

Prior to this appointment, Francois Basselot served within Egis as Managing Director, Energy & Sustainable Cities – Europe & Africa for over two years. In that role, he held full P&L responsibility and led the development and execution of strategy across architecture, nuclear, environment, water, and energy portfolios. He oversaw financial planning, project methodologies, and talent management, positioning the business line for sustainable growth across multiple geographies.

Before joining Egis, Basselot was with Arcadis as Market Sector Director – Contractors & Partners (UK & Ireland). During his tenure of nearly two years, he worked across highways, rail, aviation, water, defence, and technology sectors. He led C-suite engagement, account strategy, and pipeline development, helping Arcadis strengthen relationships with key partners and translate value propositions into commercially viable opportunities.

Earlier in his career, he spent more than eight years with Atkins, where he held several leadership roles including Client Director – International Water Market and Water Market Director – Middle East & Africa. These positions saw him drive business planning, international market expansion, and major water infrastructure initiatives across complex regions.

Basselot also built foundational expertise at Veolia, progressing from Hydraulic Modelling & GIS Expert to Asset Management Manager and ultimately Operations Director. His time there deepened his technical and operational understanding of water systems, asset optimization, and service delivery.

Francois Basselot holds a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Water Engineering & Project Management from Polytech Nice Sophia (2007–2008) and a Master of Science in Geography & Land Settlement from Université Jean Moulin – Lyon III (2006–2007).
