Hyderabad, Telangana, India, November 2025 – Gopala Krishna Penumutchu has stepped into the role of Senior Policy Advisor at FERTIS INDIA, building on a distinguished career spanning strategic leadership roles across the agribusiness and specialty nutrients sector. As a continuing Member of the Board of Directors at Fertis India, and board member at Farm Gate Technologies, Nebulaa Innovations, and Fertiis Ventures Pvt. Ltd., he remains deeply committed to advancing plant nutrition technologies, organic-certified crop solutions, and sustainable agricultural practices. His contributions reflect a long-standing focus on market development, agribusiness strategy, crop stress management, and organizational growth across the agri-input ecosystem.
In his most recent full-time role, Gopala Krishna Penumutchu served as President & CEO of Fertis India Pvt. Ltd., where he championed the development of patented new-generation specialty fertilizers—many of which received organic certification. Under his leadership, the company advanced the widely adopted ProRise nutrition schedule, which demonstrated improved yields, reduced residues, and higher nutritional performance across multiple crops and regions. His work in strategic planning, product innovation, market expansion, and business profitability helped position Fertis India as a leading innovator in next-generation crop nutrition solutions.
Prior to his leadership at Fertis India, he spent over 15 years at Coromandel International Limited, taking on multiple senior leadership mandates including Executive Vice President – SBU Head (Retail), Speciality Nutrients & Business Development, and Head – Fertilizer Marketing. His responsibilities ranged from managing profitability of the Speciality Nutrients Business Unit to identifying strategic acquisitions, strengthening organizational structures, and driving long-term growth strategies. His tenure also included serving as Chairman of Coromandel SQM India Ltd., where he led water-soluble fertilizer manufacturing and B2B operations in partnership with SQM Europe NV, Belgium.
Earlier in his career, Gopala Krishna Penumutchu worked with E.I.D. Parry (India) Ltd. as General Manager – Marketing, overseeing nationwide sales and marketing of agri-inputs. Before this, he began his professional journey at Sandoz India Ltd. as Regional Sales Manager, leading agrochemical sales and marketing across Karnataka. His early leadership experiences helped shape his strong foundation in market development, product launches, sales strategy, brand building, and rural marketing.
His educational background includes a PGDM (MBA) in Agricultural Management from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, followed by executive learning at Harvard Business School, strengthening his strategic, commercial, and analytical capabilities.
