Hyderabad, India, June 2026 – Celon Laboratories Limited has appointed Himal P. Desai as its Chief Supply Chain Officer (CSCO), strengthening the company’s leadership team as it advances its growth ambitions across specialty pharmaceuticals, oncology, critical care, and global markets.
Desai joins Celon Laboratories with more than two decades of experience spanning pharmaceutical supply chain management, strategic sourcing, planning, logistics, procurement, operations excellence, digital transformation, and business leadership across leading healthcare and life sciences organizations. In his new role, he will be responsible for leading the company’s end-to-end supply chain strategy, enhancing operational efficiency, strengthening supply resilience, enabling business scalability, and supporting Celon’s continued expansion in domestic and international markets.
Prior to joining Celon Laboratories, Desai served as Executive Vice President – Supply Chain & IT at Sekhmet Pharmaventures, where he played a key role in driving supply chain transformation, operational excellence, digital initiatives, and business growth. During his tenure, he held multiple leadership positions including Executive Vice President – Supply Chain and Vice President – Supply Chain, contributing significantly to the company’s expansion and operational capabilities.
Earlier, he served as Vice President – Supply Chain at Virchow Biotech, leading strategic supply chain initiatives across manufacturing and operations. He also held the position of General Manager – Supply Chain at KIMS Hospitals, where he managed complex healthcare supply chain operations and procurement functions.
Desai’s career also includes leadership roles with Novartis, where he served as Head – Supply Chain, Global Clinical Supplies, as well as Piramal Pharma Solutions, where he held multiple senior leadership positions including Business SCM Head – API Generics & Services and Planning Head for India Operations. His professional journey further includes key roles with Phonak, Merck Group, Pidilite Industries, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, and IPCA, providing him with extensive cross-functional experience across pharmaceuticals, healthcare, specialty chemicals, and manufacturing sectors.
An alumnus of SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), where he completed a Post Graduate Diploma in General Management with specialization in Supply Chain Management and Finance, Desai has built a reputation for driving supply chain excellence, operational optimization, cost efficiency, and business transformation.
His appointment comes at a significant phase for Celon Laboratories as the company accelerates its strategic growth agenda.
