Atlanta, Georgia, United States, June 2026 — Delta Air Lines has appointed Jake Wiemer as General Manager – Human Resources.
Wiemer has been with Delta Air Lines for more than five years. Prior to his current appointment, he served as Senior Human Resources Manager from December 2021 to June 2026. During this period, he supported multiple business functions including In-Flight Service and Reservations and Customer Care.
He initially joined Delta Air Lines as HR Manager in March 2021, a position he held until December 2021. Based in Detroit, Michigan, he was responsible for supporting Human Resources operations within the organization.
Before joining Delta Air Lines, Wiemer spent nearly seven years with Ford Motor Company, where he held a series of Human Resources positions across labor relations, recruitment, employee relations, and business partnering.
From July 2019 to March 2021, he served as Senior HR Business Partner – Corporate Staffs in Dearborn, Michigan. Prior to that, he was HR Business Partner – Ford Credit in Tampa, Florida, from September 2018 to June 2019.
Earlier in his Ford career, Wiemer worked as HR Associate – U.S. Recruiting from July 2016 to September 2018 in Dearborn, Michigan. He also served as HR Business Partner – Labor Representative at Ford’s Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville, Kentucky, from May 2014 to July 2016.
In that role, he supported approximately 7,000 hourly unionized employees, maintained union-management relations through administration of the collective bargaining agreement, conducted employee investigations, administered employee discipline processes, supported recruiting and onboarding activities, and managed grievance-related matters.
Earlier in his career, Wiemer completed a Human Resources internship with Meijer in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he worked on employee incentive programs, workforce analytics, and team member engagement initiatives.
Wiemer holds a Master of Science in Human Resources and Organizational Development from Eastern Michigan University.
