Houston, Texas, United States, October 2024 – Weatherford International has appointed James Pirtle as their new Vice President of Total Rewards. James will lead the company’s global strategy for total rewards, overseeing executive compensation, benefits, and equity programs. His expertise will ensure Weatherford continues to attract, retain, and reward top talent in line with the company’s strategic objectives.
James Pirtle most recently served as Sr. Director of Total Rewards at Newpark, where he was responsible for executive compensation, global compensation programs, and benefits administration across 20 countries, working closely with the Executive Leadership Team to align compensation strategy with business objectives.
Prior to Newpark, James spent over 11 years at Apache Corporation, where he held multiple leadership roles, including Sr. HR Manager Compensation and Expat Services. In this capacity, he managed global compensation, equity programs, expatriate administration, and played a key role in global HR strategy development.
At Apache, he also held roles such as Manager Global Compensation, where he led executive compensation strategy, and Sr. Compensation Analyst, where he supported acquisitions and divestitures, and managed salary surveys and compensation processes across multiple regions.
Before his time at Apache, James worked at Anadarko Petroleum Corporation for over 7 years, where he held various roles, including Sr. HR Business Partner and HR Analyst II. He was involved in international HR management, compensation planning, and leading recruitment strategies for international operations.
