Singapore, June 2026 – Citi has expanded the responsibilities of Jatin Mamtani, who has stepped into an enhanced role as Global Head of Strategic Investments, Citi Services, overseeing strategic investments and partnerships across Citi’s services ecosystem, including payments, treasury and liquidity management, trade finance, custody, fund services, issuer services, and market infrastructure.
The expanded mandate underscores Citi’s commitment to accelerating innovation through strategic investments, partnerships, and emerging technology ecosystems that are reshaping the future of global financial services. In his new role, Mamtani will lead investment strategies designed to identify and support fintechs, infrastructure providers, and technology partners that can strengthen Citi’s capabilities across its global services franchise.
Mamtani has been with Citi since 2022 and previously served as Global Head of Strategic Investments, Citi Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS), where he led principal investments in fintech companies strategically aligned with the bank’s growth agenda. Before that, he served as APAC Head of Institutional Strategic Investments, helping shape Citi’s investment strategy across the region.
Over the years, he has built an impressive portfolio of board and investor roles, including positions with GROW Inc, Fnality, iPiD, and Qapita, reflecting his deep engagement with the global fintech and digital infrastructure ecosystem.
Prior to joining Citi, Mamtani spent six years with Standard Chartered Bank, where he led Corporate Development and fintech investing activities across Asia-Pacific. During his tenure, he was responsible for mergers and acquisitions, venture investments, strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and divestments. He played a key role in executing more than 20 transactions spanning payments, digital banking, blockchain, trade finance, infrastructure financing, and private equity businesses, with deal sizes ranging from a few million dollars to over a billion dollars.
Earlier in his career, he worked as Senior Investment Manager at BW Ventures, focusing on growth-stage investments across logistics, infrastructure, clean technology, and renewable energy. He also served as Vice President at Barclays Capital, where he co-led financial services investment research covering Asian banking, insurance, and financial services sectors.
Mamtani began his professional journey as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company, advising leading organizations across financial services, consumer, retail, engineering, and infrastructure sectors in India, Singapore, and Malaysia. He also gained early experience in technology and engineering at Ittiam Systems and completed a successful internship with Lehman Brothers in New York.
An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA), Mamtani brings a unique combination of investment expertise, strategic thinking, technology insight, and financial services experience to his expanded leadership role.
