Lund, Skåne County, Sweden, June 2026 — Fredrik Röök has been appointed as Vice President, Business Development at Hansa Biopharma, bringing more than two decades of experience across business development, licensing, strategic partnerships, investment management, and the global biopharmaceutical industry.
In his new role, Röök will support Hansa Biopharma’s growth strategy by advancing business development initiatives, strategic collaborations, licensing opportunities, and partnerships that strengthen the company’s innovative pipeline focused on rare immunological conditions.
Prior to joining Hansa Biopharma, Röök spent nearly eight years with AstraZeneca, most recently serving as Senior Director, Global Business Development. During his tenure, he focused on identifying and executing value-enhancing partnering opportunities across key therapeutic areas, spanning clinical-stage and commercial-stage assets. He previously served as Director, Global Business Development and earlier as Associate Director, Scientific Partnering & Alliances, where he played a key role in building strategic biotech partnerships, licensing opportunities, and acquisitions across cardiovascular, metabolic, respiratory, inflammation, and autoimmune disease portfolios.
Before AstraZeneca, Röök held a business development and licensing role at Debiopharm International SA, where he was responsible for supporting in-licensing and out-licensing activities. He also served as Director, Business Development at Isofol Medical AB, contributing to the company’s strategic growth initiatives.
Earlier in his career, Röök was Head of Product Strategy, Global Regulatory Affairs at Lundbeck, where he led the Regulatory Product Strategy team and supported the company’s global strategic objectives. He also spent nearly five years with Karolinska Development as an Investment Manager, focusing on identifying investment opportunities, portfolio company development, strategic transactions, and value creation initiatives within the life sciences sector.
With extensive experience spanning business development, strategic partnerships, licensing, regulatory strategy, investments, and biotechnology innovation, Röök brings significant industry expertise to Hansa Biopharma as the company continues expanding its presence in rare disease therapeutics and immunology.
