Seattle, Washington, United States, April 2026 — Joe Bradley has started a new position as Chief Technology Officer at IDC. In this role, he is focused on bringing market intelligence and AI together, marking an important leadership move for the company as it continues to strengthen its capabilities across technology insight, data, and innovation.
Before taking on this role, Joe Bradley served at IDC as SVP AI & Chief Scientist. In that position, he led AI globally for the company, working with IDC’s proprietary data assets and business intelligence capabilities to invent new products and enhance existing offerings. His progression from SVP AI & Chief Scientist to Chief Technology Officer reflects the company’s confidence in his leadership across AI, data, and product innovation.
Prior to joining IDC, Joe Bradley spent more than six years at LivePerson as SVP Data Science & ML, Chief Scientist. During his tenure, he helped build the company’s AI research practice and led the invention and launch of a conversational AI product suite that powered hundreds of millions of conversations each year. He also played a significant role in the company’s generative AI development, helping launch products and builder tools used by major brands for employee assistance and customer-facing chatbot use cases.
Earlier, he held senior roles at Nike, where he served as Senior Director, Data & Personalization Science, Audience Targeting and Optimization, and before that as Director of Personalization Science. In these positions, he built and led teams focused on personalization, causal inference, testing and experience optimization, audience targeting, and consumer knowledge. These roles added strong depth to his experience in applied data science, customer intelligence, and large-scale personalization.
Before Nike, Joe Bradley was at Amazon, where he served as Head of Data and Analytics, Amazon Search Experience and earlier as Research Scientist. At Amazon, he led teams using machine learning and petabyte-scale data to improve search experiences, audience segmentation, and analytics infrastructure, while also contributing to innovations that drove meaningful business impact. This phase of his journey further strengthened his profile in large-scale machine learning, predictive modeling, and customer-focused analytics.
Earlier in his career, he worked in advanced scientific research roles, including Physicist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Research Associate at Los Alamos National Laboratory, and Researcher at San Francisco State University. These assignments reflect a deep scientific and analytical foundation that later evolved into a leadership career spanning AI, machine learning, personalization, data science, and technology strategy.
His overall journey reflects strong progression across scientific research, machine learning, data science, AI product development, enterprise analytics, and executive technology leadership.
