John brings extensive experience in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to lead the ML and AI operations, propelling clinical development and enhancing health outcomes.
John Mercer joins Evinova with a wealth of experience in machine learning and artificial intelligence. Most recently, he served as an Oncology Real-World Data (RWD) Platform Engineering Consultant at Starstuff Ventures for 4 months, providing hands-on technical leadership to design, build, and launch the first marketplace and social platform for mathematical proof curation, writing, and formalization.
Prior to that, John was the Director of Engineering at Starstuff Ventures for 1 year, where he designed and implemented EvoGPT-f, an Evolutionary GPT Framework for Benchmarking Formal Math Languages, and solidified international partnerships with leading universities.
John also served as the Lead Senior Staff Scientist, Head of Predictive BioAnalytics at Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering for 1 year. He designed and built the Predictive BioAnalytics technology platform and a drug repurposing platform to support and collaborate with scientists across labs and grants.
At Navio, John was the Chief Data Scientist for 6 months, where he designed and built the data science ecosystem, including data engineering pipelines and analytic product prototypes.
John’s career includes roles such as Head of Data Science at Foundation Medicine, where he led a team of data scientists, designed and implemented a cloud data science platform, and developed machine learning models to support clinical decision-making.
At Pixability, he served as the Head of Data Science for 1 year and 5 months, leading the development of new machine learning-based optimization engines and MLOps systems for video ad campaigns.
John has also held significant positions at Ledger Investing as the Machine Learning Architect and Platform Launch CPO, and at Apptopia as the Chief Analytics Officer, where he re-built and put into production over 20 machine learning models that constitute the core value proposition of the intelligence platform.
