Prior to joining the Children’s Home Society of North Carolina, Townsend held the position of Global Director of Human Resources at Market America Worldwide, where he played a crucial role in shaping the company’s HR strategies and practices. His extensive career also includes significant stints at HAECO Americas and VSE Corporation, where he led HR and workforce development initiatives that significantly contributed to each organization’s growth and success.
Townsend’s appointment comes at a time when the Children’s Home Society of North Carolina continues to expand its services and impact. The organization, with a storied history of over 115 years, is dedicated to placing approximately 400 children each year into permanent, loving homes. Its focus extends beyond adoption and foster care to include therapy and support for children who have suffered abuse and neglect, training and support for foster families, counseling for birth mothers, and a range of post-adoption services.
