Portland, Oregon, United States, April 2025 – Juan Gallegos has joined Portland General Electric as Chief Human Resource Officer and Vice President of People & Culture, marking an exciting new chapter in his distinguished career. In this role, Juan will spearhead the company’s people strategy, culture initiatives, and organizational development efforts as PGE continues its journey toward a cleaner energy future.
Before this, Juan served as Vice President, Human Resources & Administration at Clearway Energy Group, where he led HR transformation initiatives and earned recognition such as the 2024 Military Times Best for Vets Employers honor. His prior experience includes a significant tenure as Vice President, People Experience & Technology at Cornerstone Building Brands, where he drove a major HR technology roadmap, reshaped engagement strategies, and contributed to Cornerstone’s recognition among America’s Greatest Workplaces for Diversity.
Earlier in his career, Juan held pivotal leadership roles at Amazon, including Chief Talent Strategist and Regional Human Resources Executive. He was responsible for strategic talent management across a workforce of over 100,000 employees and played a crucial role in launching innovative retention programs that scaled nationwide. His Amazon tenure cemented his reputation for building performance-driven, inclusive workplaces.
Juan’s professional journey also includes impactful stints at Cenergy International Services as Chief Human Resources Officer, and at Ignite Restaurant Group, where he led HR efforts during a period of rapid growth and a major IPO. His earlier HR leadership experience at MasTec and his foundational leadership skills honed during his eight-year service in the U.S. Army further strengthen his broad expertise. Juan is a graduate of Cornell University Graduate School, specializing in Industrial and Labor Relations (ILR).
