Minneapolis, Minnesota, June 2024 – Kara Loraus has been named the new Vice President, People Team – Innovation & Future of Work at UnitedHealth Group. Kara brings extensive experience in human capital strategy and technology, making her well-suited to lead the company’s people operations and future work initiatives.
Kara Loraus has been with UnitedHealth Group for over five years. Prior to her current role, she served as the Vice President, Human Capital – Mergers & Acquisitions for approximately three years. In this role, Kara provided strategic leadership and oversight for human capital aspects during mergers and acquisitions, ensuring smooth integrations and maximizing organizational effectiveness.
Before that, Kara held the position of VP – Human Capital Technology for around three years. She was responsible for leading technology initiatives to enhance human capital management processes, focusing on user experience and integration projects to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
Kara also worked at EY for nearly nine years, where she was a Senior Manager in Human Capital – HR Performance Improvement. During her tenure at EY, she advised clients on human capital strategy, focusing on service delivery transformation, process design and improvement, and HR technology enablement. She played a key role in multiple HR projects, helping clients enhance HR operations and reduce costs through improved processes and technology solutions.
Earlier in her career, Kara served as an HCM Consultant at Emerging Solutions for almost two years. She utilized PeopleSoft to deliver business solutions tailored to client needs, managing various ERP engagements and integrations.
Kara’s career began at Macy’s, where she worked for approximately four years. She developed and presented location plans and strategies, managed sales plans, and led teams through system transitions, becoming an expert in financial analysis and team leadership.
