Kumaresan T elevated to Senior Vice President & Head – Minerals & Metals Independent Company at Larsen & Toubro

Kolkata, West Bengal, India, April 2025 — Kumaresan T has been elevated to Senior Vice President & Head of the Minerals & Metals Independent Company (M&M IC) at Larsen & Toubro, marking a significant milestone in his distinguished three-decade-long career with the organization. In this new role, he will steer high-impact operations across India and the MENA region, furthering L&T’s leadership in the EPC space for minerals and metals.

A veteran professional with over 30 years of experience at L&T, Kumaresan has held key leadership roles across functions including project execution, international business development, and strategic partnerships. As the former Executive Vice President and Head of the Minerals & Metals Strategic Business Group, he successfully led a multidisciplinary team of engineers and played a pivotal role in maintaining L&T’s position as a global leader in the metals EPC sector.

Earlier, as General Manager and Business Unit Head for Non-Ferrous and International Business, Kumaresan was instrumental in expanding L&T’s international footprint, especially in the MENA region, bagging large-scale EPC contracts and building multicultural leadership teams. He has also overseen billion-dollar projects for clients like TATA Steel, SAIL, and Hindalco Industries, showcasing his excellence in large-scale execution and project management.

An alumnus of the University of Madras, Kumaresan further enhanced his leadership credentials at INSEAD, Harvard Business School, and leading Indian institutions like the IIMs. He was recognized as the Project Execution Leader of the Year (2023) and is a Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (UK), and a Project Management Associate. His elevation reflects L&T’s deep commitment to nurturing in-house talent and driving global engineering excellence in the rapidly evolving minerals and metals sector.
