Kenya, August 2026 — Noatum Logistics, an AD Ports Group company, has appointed Kurven Saravanan Monien as Cluster Director, East Africa. In his new role, Monien will lead the company’s growth strategy across the region, strengthening customer relationships, expanding market opportunities, and supporting the development of integrated logistics and supply chain solutions for clients and partners.
With more than 20 years of leadership experience across logistics, freight forwarding, shipping, supply chain management, and commercial operations, Kurven Saravanan Monien brings extensive regional expertise spanning Africa and the Indian Ocean. Throughout his career, he has led country and regional businesses, managed profit and loss responsibilities, developed new markets, and built strong customer and partner networks across multiple geographies.
Prior to joining Noatum Logistics, Monien served as Managing Director at Pacific International Lines, overseeing operations across Togo, Benin, and Niger. Before that, he was Country Manager at OMA Group (West Africa) and General Manager at Bajaj Auto Ltd. in Kenya. He also founded MK Africa Logistics, where he advised Mauritian businesses on exports to mainland Africa and sourcing opportunities across East Africa.
A major part of Monien’s career was spent with Damco, where he held a series of senior leadership roles over more than 13 years. These included Chief Commercial Officer – East Africa, Managing Director, Managing Director – Maersk Uganda, General Manager, Country Logistics Manager, General Manager – Maersk Logistics, and Air Freight Manager. Across these assignments, he led operations in markets including Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Mauritius, Madagascar, Rwanda, Burundi, Senegal, Benin, and Niger, managing commercial strategy, logistics operations, market expansion, and P&L performance. Earlier, he spent more than five years with Air Mauritius as Business Development Cargo Manager – Outstations.
Monien holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing and Supply Chain Management from the University of Natal Pietermaritzburg, providing a strong academic foundation that complements his extensive leadership experience across international logistics and supply chain operations.
