Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, June 2025 — Lavani Agarwal has been appointed as Vice President and Head of Marketing and Communications for India & South Asia at Mastercard. With a distinguished career leading brand strategy and communications for global tech and consumer giants, Lavani steps into this role to further strengthen Mastercard’s brand resonance and strategic messaging across one of its fastest-growing regions.

At Google, Lavani led brand and reputation marketing for flagship platforms such as Google and YouTube, driving narrative and trust in the ecosystem. Prior to this, she held several senior leadership roles at Uber, where she steered brand marketing for APAC, developed regional strategies, and managed cross-functional execution to shape consumer sentiment across markets.

Earlier in her career, Lavani spent over four years at Procter & Gamble in Singapore, where she managed ASEAN market strategies and luxury beauty portfolios across diverse geographies. Her early experience also includes impactful internships with Colgate-Palmolive, 3M, and ABN AMRO, showcasing her foundational expertise in business development, marketing, and corporate affairs.

Her appointment comes as Mastercard continues to double down on its efforts to deepen consumer engagement, enhance trust, and foster brand loyalty across India and South Asia. With over a decade of rich, cross-sector experience, Lavani is poised to lead Mastercard’s marketing transformation in the region.
