Nigeria, May 2026 – Cauridor has announced the appointment of Leila Abu as its Chief People Officer, strengthening the company’s leadership team as it continues its growth across Africa’s rapidly evolving fintech ecosystem.
Welcoming her to the organization, Cauridor highlighted the critical role its people function will play as the company scales operations across 36 African countries with a workforce spread across 24 nations. The company noted that Leila Abu brings extensive experience in HR strategy, organizational design, workforce planning, and culture-building across high-growth technology and financial services businesses.
Prior to joining Cauridor, Leila Abu founded The Amprsand, where she has been working on independent people strategy and advisory initiatives focused on organizational growth and talent transformation.
Earlier, she served as SVP, Global People Operations at Reliance Health, overseeing people operations across multiple African markets including Egypt, Senegal, and Nigeria, while supporting the company’s continued healthcare and technology expansion.
Before that, Leila Abu held leadership roles at KingMakers, where she served as Head of People – Africa and Head of People – Nigeria. In these positions, she led HR strategy and people operations across several African markets including Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Ethiopia, and Nigeria, helping scale organizational capability and strengthen leadership structures across the business.
She also spent more than three years with Paga Group, progressing through senior leadership positions in People Operations and contributing significantly to the company’s workforce planning, organizational development, and talent management initiatives during a period of rapid growth.
Her earlier professional journey includes consulting and HR leadership assignments with OPSL Human Resources, Ocean & Oil Holdings, and Design Options, where she built foundational expertise in HR operations, legal and people analytics, talent strategy, and organizational effectiveness.
Across her career, Leila Abu has developed a strong reputation for building HR functions from the ground up, supporting leadership teams through scaling phases, and creating cultures designed to attract and retain top talent in dynamic, high-growth environments.
