Lionel Paul David Appointed as Chief Human Resources Officer at Watertec India

Mumbai / Coimbatore, India, June 2025 – Lionel Paul David has been appointed as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) at Watertec India, a leading provider of premium bath fittings and end-to-end bathroom solutions. In his new role, Lionel is responsible for building a world-class workplace by executing a compelling people and culture vision, spearheading HR transformation initiatives, and fostering a high-performance culture aligned with business growth.

Prior to this, Lionel served for approximately four years at Stellantis as Workforce Head and HR Business Advisor – India & Asia Pacific (IAP) Region, where he played a key role in driving post-merger workforce strategies, organization design, and people programs across multiple countries including India, Australia, Japan, and ASEAN markets. He also led HRBP operations for Citroën India, focusing on strategic HR, talent management, and employee lifecycle governance.

Before joining Stellantis, Lionel worked as Head of HR – GBS at Olam, where he drove HR transformation through digital HR initiatives and capability-building programs across the global shared services division. His efforts in employee engagement, policy development, and digital HR tools laid the groundwork for future-proofing the organization’s workforce.

Earlier, Lionel spent over six years with RR Donnelley, where he served as Senior Business Partner and HR PMO Leader – APAC, supporting 10,000+ employees across the Asia-Pacific region. He designed and implemented talent engagement initiatives, managed workforce planning, and coached business leaders through people challenges during a digital transformation phase.

Lionel’s earlier leadership experience includes roles at Exemplarr Worldwide Limited, where he led learning and education initiatives and built HR operations from the ground up, as well as HR consulting roles where he specialized in talent fulfillment for high-growth sectors including automotive, BFSI, and media.

Matthew Breitfelder is Partner and Global Head of Human Capital at Apollo, where he focuses on attracting extraordinary talent to the firm and creating an innovative, inclusive, high-performance culture that brings out the best in Apollo’s people. Matt leads Apollo’s recruiting, talent management, compensation, succession planning, citizenship, employee relations, development, and culture work. He is also a member of the firm’s Leadership Team. Matt is committed to expanding opportunities across Apollo’s workplace, marketplace, and communities. Prior to joining Apollo, Matt was Chief Talent Officer at BlackRock as well as a member of the Operating Committee. Previously, he held strategy, talent, and innovation roles at Mastercard, PwC, and CEB/Gartner.

Matt holds a BA in Economics from the University of Southern California, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently serves on the boards of the Lumina Foundation, the Aspen Institute’s Business and Society program, the Milken Institute’s Inclusive Capitalism initiative, and Georgetown University’s initiative on AI, Analytics, and the Future of Work. He is the co-author of numerous Harvard Business School case studies and articles on leadership. Matt has been recognized as a Top Global CHRO multiple times by n2Growth and Stanford Business School.
