Barcelona, Spain – Fluidra, a global leader in pool and wellness equipment, has appointed Mario Fernández Montero as its new Head of Corporate Human Resources and Compensation & Benefits Lead. Fernández Montero brings over two decades of experience in human resource management, most recently from Microsoft, where he significantly impacted HR strategies across various sectors.
Prior to joining Fluidra, Mario Fernández Montero had a substantial tenure at Microsoft, serving as HR Lead for Azure – Cloud Hardware and Infrastructure Engineering until May 2024. His role involved shaping organizational strategies, enhancing talent management processes, and driving diversity and inclusion efforts across the company’s education and financial services industries in the United States.
Before his latest role, Montero was pivotal in managing HR operations for Microsoft’s Education and Financial Services sectors from 2020 to 2021 and played a critical role in the HR management across the New York Metro & Financial Services Industries between 2018 and 2020. His strategic leadership was instrumental in aligning HR initiatives with business goals, improving talent acquisition, retention, and development, and fostering an inclusive work environment.
A Career Spanning Various Roles and Industries
Mario’s journey before Microsoft included significant positions where he implemented comprehensive HR strategies and improved organizational effectiveness. He served as the HR Manager for LATAM HQ at Microsoft, where he led the development and execution of HR strategies tailored to the Latin American market. His earlier roles also saw him driving HR operations at esteemed organizations such as Sun Microsystems and Esteve, managing comprehensive HR functions including staffing, employee relations, and performance management.
