Elgin, Scotland, United Kingdom, September 2025 – Gordon & MacPhail, the family-owned premium spirits company, has announced the appointment of Mark Geary as its new Chief Executive. After serving as Interim Chief Executive Officer since July 2025, Geary now officially takes over the reins to lead the company’s long-term growth, global brand strategy, and legacy of craftsmanship.
Prior to this appointment, Mark served as Managing Director of Big Blue Boat Ltd, a strategic brand consulting firm, for nearly eight years. During this time, he delivered impactful growth strategies to premium drinks companies and brands, working with industry leaders such as Berry Brothers & Rudd, Gordon & MacPhail, C&C, International Beverages, and Hambledon Wine. His expertise in guiding family-owned businesses and mentoring leadership teams has been widely recognized.
Earlier, he spent more than a decade at Edrington, holding senior leadership roles including Super Premium Director – Global, Strategic Marketing Director – Global, Global Brand Director for Brugal, Global Strategy Director, and Brand Innovation & Planning Director. In these roles, he was instrumental in global brand building, portfolio innovation, and the expansion of internationally recognized spirits such as The Macallan and The Famous Grouse.
Before joining Edrington, Mark gained experience at Scottish & Newcastle as Research & Planning Manager and began his career at Millward Brown through the Graduate Trainee Program, where he developed his expertise in market insights and brand strategy.
Beyond his corporate roles, Mark has contributed to community development as a Board Trustee at Families First St. Andrews for over eight years and currently serves as a Board Trustee at FARE Scotland, supporting initiatives that empower individuals and strengthen communities.
