In this role, Mark Lacey will lead the end-to-end people strategy, focusing on building a high-performing, inclusive culture, strengthening leadership capability, and enhancing the employee experience across Lidl’s growing U.S. operations. His mandate includes driving organizational effectiveness, talent development, succession planning, and DEI initiatives, while aligning HR strategy with the company’s ambitious growth trajectory.

As Lidl continues to expand its footprint across the United States, Lacey’s leadership will play a pivotal role in scaling operations through people, empowering teams across retail stores and distribution centers to deliver consistent excellence.

Prior to rejoining Lidl US, Mark Lacey served as Chief Human Resources Officer at Save A Lot, where he led enterprise-wide HR strategy, including talent management, organizational development, succession planning, and change management, while also overseeing communications and governance initiatives at the executive level.

He spent several years in progressive leadership roles at Save A Lot, including SVP – HR, Governance, Risk & Compliance and Vice President of Human Resources, where he was instrumental in driving ESG initiatives, workforce transformation, and integrated people strategies across corporate, retail, and distribution networks.

Earlier in his career, Lacey held key HR leadership roles at Vodafone and Topaz Energy Ltd, building deep expertise in talent acquisition, employer branding, and workforce planning.

Notably, he has also previously worked with Lidl in both the U.S. and Ireland, where he led HR operations, talent development, and recruitment strategy, contributing to the early growth and success of Lidl’s international expansion efforts.

With over two decades of global HR leadership experience, Mark Lacey brings a strong track record in retail workforce transformation, leadership development, and scaling high-growth organizations.
