Bangladesh, June 2024 – Md Rokonuzzaman has joined Kansai Nerolac Paints (Bangladesh) Limited as the new Head of HR, Legal and Admin. With a rich background in human resources, legal, and administrative functions, he is set to lead strategic initiatives to foster talent, ensure legal compliance, and enhance organizational performance.

Before joining Kansai Nerolac Paints, Md Rokonuzzaman served as the Head of HR at Haier Bangladesh Ltd for over three years. In this role, he developed organizational strategies, implemented HR operations financial strategies, and managed HR operations by recruiting, training, and coaching staff. He also guided management on policy updates and ensured compliance with local legal requirements.

Prior to his tenure at Haier, he was the Head of HR and Legal at Le Reve for nearly two years. Here, he developed strategic policies, managed recruitment, leave, and attendance, designed training programs, and handled various HR and legal issues. His work included building KPI structures, implementing performance reviews, and maintaining compliance with labor laws.

Md Rokonuzzaman also spent over six years at REVE Group, where he held multiple roles, including Head of HR & Admin. He was responsible for implementing HR and compliance policies, managing recruitment, and overseeing administrative operations. His responsibilities extended to organizing meetings, designing training programs, and maintaining legal documents and certifications.

Earlier in his career, he served as a Senior Executive in HR and Admin at the Institute of Management Consultants Bangladesh (IMCB) for nearly five years. He developed HR policies, assisted in consultant recruitment, handled disciplinary actions, and coordinated training and seminars. He also managed financial management tasks and maintained liaison with government officials.

Matthew Breitfelder is Partner and Global Head of Human Capital at Apollo, where he focuses on attracting extraordinary talent to the firm and creating an innovative, inclusive, high-performance culture that brings out the best in Apollo’s people. Matt leads Apollo’s recruiting, talent management, compensation, succession planning, citizenship, employee relations, development, and culture work. He is also a member of the firm’s Leadership Team. Matt is committed to expanding opportunities across Apollo’s workplace, marketplace, and communities. Prior to joining Apollo, Matt was Chief Talent Officer at BlackRock as well as a member of the Operating Committee. Previously, he held strategy, talent, and innovation roles at Mastercard, PwC, and CEB/Gartner.

Matt holds a BA in Economics from the University of Southern California, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently serves on the boards of the Lumina Foundation, the Aspen Institute’s Business and Society program, the Milken Institute’s Inclusive Capitalism initiative, and Georgetown University’s initiative on AI, Analytics, and the Future of Work. He is the co-author of numerous Harvard Business School case studies and articles on leadership. Matt has been recognized as a Top Global CHRO multiple times by n2Growth and Stanford Business School.
