Toronto, Ontario, Canada, June 2026 — Metso has promoted Vijal Patel to Vice President – Supply Chain & Operations, North & Central America Region.
In his new role, Patel will lead supply chain and operations activities across Metso’s North and Central America region, supporting operational excellence, manufacturing performance, supply chain effectiveness, continuous improvement initiatives, and regional business growth.
Patel has been associated with Metso for nearly two years. Prior to this promotion, he served as Global Head – Continuous Improvement, where he led global continuous improvement initiatives across more than 18 manufacturing sites supporting the company’s business operations. During this period, he focused on operational efficiency, process optimization, productivity enhancement, and organizational capability development.
He also served as Interim Plant Head in Mexico, where he was responsible for managing manufacturing operations, greenfield plant development, supply chain management, logistics, warehouse operations, planning, production, maintenance, quality management, inventory control, and operational excellence initiatives.
Before joining Metso, Patel served as Deputy General Manager – Operational Excellence Head at Schneider Electric. In this role, he led operational excellence initiatives, continuous improvement deployment, lean transformation, process optimization, digital manufacturing initiatives, and supply chain performance improvement programs.
Earlier, he worked with Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning India Limited as Continuous Improvement & Process Engineering Manager, leading manufacturing improvement projects, new product introduction initiatives, capacity planning, operational excellence programs, digitalization projects, and lean manufacturing deployments.
His professional journey also includes leadership positions with Blue Star Limited as Senior Manufacturing Leader, where he managed manufacturing operations, production planning, lean manufacturing initiatives, cost optimization projects, and quality improvement programs.
Prior to that, Patel spent five years with Larsen & Toubro Limited as a Manufacturing Specialist, supporting manufacturing operations, greenfield project execution, production planning, quality systems, process improvements, and operational management.
Throughout his career, Patel has developed expertise across supply chain management, manufacturing operations, operational excellence, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, Six Sigma, Industry 4.0, digital transformation, plant management, quality systems, production planning, and business transformation.
