NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE, UNITED STATES, June 2026 — Starbucks has announced the appointment of Michael Hindman as Vice President of Indirect Sourcing, based in the company’s Nashville office. In his new role, Hindman will lead Starbucks’ indirect sourcing function, helping drive procurement excellence, supplier partnerships, operational efficiency, and strategic value creation across the organization. His appointment underscores Starbucks’ continued focus on strengthening its global sourcing capabilities while supporting growth, innovation, and operational resilience.

Prior to joining Starbucks, Hindman served at Mars, where he most recently held the position of Senior Vice President Strategy for Mars Pet Nutrition. In this role, he led strategy, revenue growth management, consumer insights, sales and operations planning, project management, value leadership, and continuous improvement initiatives. Before that, he served as Senior Vice President Procurement, leading sourcing of raw materials, packaging, contract manufacturing, sustainability initiatives, supplier quality, procurement operations, and price risk management for Mars Pet Nutrition North America.

Earlier, Hindman served as Vice President of Procurement and Supply Chain at Republic Services, where he oversaw company-wide procurement and supply chain operations supporting a Fortune 500 business with multi-billion-dollar annual revenues. Prior to Republic Services, he was Chief Procurement Officer at Snyder’s-Lance, leading procurement strategy across direct and indirect spend categories while also overseeing manufacturing and product supply operations for key brands.

Earlier in his career, Hindman held senior leadership positions with Kimberly-Clark, Stryker, McKinsey & Company, and Intel, building extensive expertise across procurement transformation, strategic sourcing, manufacturing operations, supply chain optimization, planning, business strategy, and operational excellence.

Throughout his career, Hindman has successfully led large-scale procurement organizations, global sourcing transformations, supplier development programs, sustainability initiatives, and operational improvement efforts across multiple industries. His broad leadership experience positions him well to support Starbucks as it continues to enhance its sourcing capabilities and strengthen supplier partnerships worldwide.

Hindman’s appointment is expected to further strengthen Starbucks’ indirect sourcing strategy, helping the company optimize supplier relationships, improve operational efficiencies, drive innovation, and support sustainable growth across its global operations.
