Michael Tumengkol Named Vice President - Head of Human Capital Development at Henan Asset Management

Jakarta, May 2024 – Henan Asset Management is thrilled to announce the appointment of Michael Tumengkol as Vice President – Head of Human Capital Development. With over 20 years of experience in organizational development and people management, Michael will lead the company’s human capital initiatives, ensuring that Henan Asset Management continues to cultivate a culture of growth, learning, and excellence.

Before joining Henan Asset Management, Michael served at Shell for six years in various leadership roles. As Global Learning & Development Advisor (April 2022 to December 2023), he partnered with senior leaders to drive performance excellence and continuous learning within Global Functions and Shell Business Operations. He led the implementation of capability frameworks and delivered global certification programs, achieving 100% compliance for Frontline Barrier Management.

From January 2018 to March 2022, Michael was Head of Organizational Development & Learning – Mobility Indonesia. He spearheaded the digital transformation of learning for Shell staff and over 3500 Service Champions while driving non-fuels retail capability development.

Prior to Shell, Michael worked at PT Nusa Halmahera Minerals for seven years in various safety training and leadership roles. As NewSafe Implementation Lead (February 2016 to August 2017), he led an organizational safety transformation initiative that achieved zero fatalities and a 58% reduction in injury rates. He also served as Safety Training Superintendent, designing and delivering internal safety training programs.

Michael began his career at PT Freeport Indonesia, where he worked for over six years, leading underground safety training initiatives and delivering leadership training subjects for supervisory and managerial staff.
