Johannesburg, South Africa, April 2026 — McDonald’s South Africa has welcomed Millicent “Milly” Maroga as its new Impact Director, bringing more than 20 years of experience in corporate affairs, sustainability, social investment, public policy, stakeholder engagement, employee engagement, and purpose-led brand building.
In her new role, Milly Maroga will lead the Brand and Impact function at McDonald’s South Africa, a strategic pillar focused on deepening the company’s connection with communities and strengthening the relevance of its brand in the South African market. She will oversee the company’s societal impact agenda, sustainability, corporate brand and communications, and champion the work of Ronald McDonald House Charities South Africa.
Before joining McDonald’s South Africa, Milly served as Corporate Affairs Director at HEINEKEN Beverages, where she led corporate affairs, government and stakeholder relations, sustainability, reputation-building, internal communication, and employee engagement initiatives.
Earlier, she served as Head of the Old Mutual Foundation at Old Mutual South Africa, where she led social investment strategy and programs across skills development, enterprise development, education, and staff volunteerism.
Prior to this, Milly held corporate affairs and public policy roles with South African Breweries and SAB, where she worked across public policy, regulatory affairs, corporate social investment, enterprise development, alcohol policy strategy, stakeholder engagement, and responsible alcohol use initiatives.
