Hyderabad, Telangana, India, April 2026 — Amit Kalra will join Zurich Insurance Group as Global Head of Zurich Capability Centers, effective 1 July 2026, bringing extensive leadership experience across global capability centres, insurance, reinsurance, analytics, research, strategy, technology-led operations, and GCC transformation.
In this global role, Amit Kalra will lead Zurich’s capability centres worldwide, shaping their strategic direction and building scalable, technology- and AI-led capabilities aligned with Zurich’s business priorities. He will also establish and lead Zurich’s new Global Capability Center in Hyderabad, India.
The Hyderabad centre will focus on developing technology and AI-led capabilities with end-to-end ownership across engineering, data, and core business operations, embedding AI-enabled ways of working into how solutions are designed, delivered, and scaled globally.
Before joining Zurich Insurance Group, Amit spent more than 19 years with Swiss Re, where he held several leadership roles, including Head Global Business Solutions, Managing Director, Head India Centres, Senior Vice President – Head Strategic Initiatives & Head ARC, Head Product Development & Strategy India, and Head Economic Research & Consulting India.
At Swiss Re, Amit played a key role in leading India centres, driving strategic initiatives, scaling business solutions, and strengthening analytics, research, consulting, and product strategy capabilities.
Beyond Swiss Re, Amit serves as Independent Director on the Board of Directors at IIRM and has been actively associated with NASSCOM, including as Member of the NASSCOM National and Karnataka GCC Council and earlier as Chair of the NASSCOM Karnataka GCC Council.
He has also contributed as Industry Academia Advisory Council Adviser at Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) and previously served as President South – Swiss-Indian Chamber of Commerce. Earlier in his career, he worked as Market Research Manager at GE Capital International / GE Insurance Solutions.
