Mimansa Popat Appointed as HR Lead – Commercial Banking at Kotak Mahindra Bank

Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, October 2025 – Mimansa Popat has joined Kotak Mahindra Bank as HR Lead – Commercial Banking, where she will be responsible for driving impactful people and business outcomes across the division. In her new role, she will lead a team of HR professionals to align Kotak’s talent strategy with its business objectives, focusing on leadership development, stakeholder collaboration, and employee engagement.

Mimansa most recently served at Citi, where she spent over six years in diverse HR leadership roles. As Vice President – Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Talent Management and Engagement for Asia & MEA, she played a crucial role in shaping DEI strategies, engagement programs, and talent initiatives across the region. Earlier, as Vice President – DEI Lead for APAC, she spearheaded inclusion-focused projects while supporting business transformation. Her journey at Citi began as HR Generalist for Commercial Banking and Consumer Operations, eventually progressing into Assistant Vice President and Senior HR leadership roles.

Before Citi, Mimansa worked with Disney Star as HR Business Partner and Diversity & Inclusion Lead, where she drove talent strategies and DEI programs in the media and entertainment sector. Prior to that, she was with Wipro for nearly three years as HR Business Partner and D&I Lead, managing HR processes for over 10,000 employees, leading attrition control initiatives, and designing recognition frameworks and diversity programs that had enterprise-wide impact.

Mimansa began her HR career after completing her MBA in Human Resource Management from Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB), which laid a strong foundation for her expertise in people strategy and organizational culture.
