Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, September 2025 – Voltas Limited – A TATA Enterprise, India’s leading air conditioning and engineering solutions company, has confirmed that Mukundan Menon has formally taken charge as its new Managing Director, effective September 1, 2025. In this role, Menon will lead the company’s growth strategy, strengthen its consumer and engineering businesses, and continue Voltas’ legacy of innovation and excellence in the industry.
Mukundan Menon has been with Voltas Limited since July 2023, initially serving as Executive Director & Head – Room Air Conditioner Business. In April 2025, he was elevated to Managing Director Designate, preparing him to take over the leadership of the company. His contributions during this period have been instrumental in driving market leadership in India’s cooling segment.
Alongside his work at Voltas, Menon also serves as President of the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Manufacturing Association (RAMA) since January 2025. In this capacity, he has played a pivotal role in shaping industry-wide strategies, policy advocacy, and promoting sustainable practices in the cooling sector.
Before joining Voltas, Menon worked as a Strategy Advisor for Indian and multinational corporations, where he leveraged his extensive industry expertise to guide business growth and transformation initiatives. This role allowed him to bring fresh perspectives and strategic insights into large-scale organizations.
His most significant professional tenure was with Blue Star Limited, where he spent over 17 years. He rose through senior leadership roles, including Executive Vice President, President, and later President & COO, overseeing air conditioning, refrigeration, and export businesses. His leadership was instrumental in strengthening Blue Star’s market position and expanding its global presence.
Earlier in his career, Menon spent six years with OMASCO in Oman as Country Head for the Air Conditioning Business, successfully driving business expansion in international markets. These early global experiences enriched his leadership approach, combining both domestic and international perspectives.
