Ottawa, Ontario, Canada – October 2024 – Nanette Dean has been appointed as the Vice President of Human Resources at Hard Rock Ottawa. In her new role, Nanette will play a pivotal part in shaping and growing Hard Rock Ottawa into a leading entertainment destination in Ontario and Canada, overseeing strategic HR initiatives to drive employee engagement, culture transformation, and talent development.
Prior to joining Hard Rock Ottawa, Nanette was a Strategic People, Culture & Transformation Advisor, working as a freelance consultant. During this time, she provided expert HR consulting services, helping organizations refine their HR strategies and culture transformation plans to enhance overall organizational effectiveness.
Nanette also held various leadership roles at Innovapost, where she served as the Executive Lead – Talent & Transformation for nearly five years. During her tenure, she focused on talent development, leadership training, and HR transformation, contributing to successful mergers and acquisitions, and implementing strategic HR solutions. She also led culture change initiatives, aligning HR strategies with business goals to foster a high-performance workplace.
Before Innovapost, Nanette was with IBM for over a decade, where she held multiple roles, including Global Leader for Cognitive Executive Succession, Selection, and Placement Solution. In this capacity, she deployed succession planning strategies and led diversity initiatives across global business units, contributing to leadership development and business transformation efforts worldwide. Earlier in her tenure at IBM, she led global talent acquisition solutions, implementing innovative recruitment strategies that significantly improved talent acquisition processes across regions.
Nanette’s HR career began at Accenture, where she held several HR leadership roles, including Canada Human Resource Leader, overseeing talent acquisition, executive development, and change management initiatives. Her early experience also includes HR business partner roles at Cape Breton University and CGI.
