Navisite, a subsidiary of Accenture, proudly announced the winners of its prestigious annual “Next Steminist” scholarship program in India.
Aimed at bridging the gender disparity in the technology sector, this initiative celebrates and supports the ambitions of young women in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The 2024 iteration recognized the exceptional talents of Nisha Khati from Bengaluru, Karnataka; Anchal Mourya from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh; and Bhanu Yadavalli from Khammam, Telangana, each awarded 1,00,000 INR to support their university education in STEM disciplines.
Tejal Munagekar, Managing Director of Navisite India, expressed immense pride in acknowledging the achievements of these young women, underscoring the company’s commitment to fostering gender diversity and empowerment within the technology domain. The scholarship not only offers financial assistance but also encourages recipients to pursue their dreams and career goals in STEM fields.
Since its inception in the U.S. in 2021, Navisite’s Steminist scholarship program has distributed nearly $100,000 to support women in technology. The program extended to India in 2022, initially providing two scholarships. This year, in a significant expansion, three outstanding female students were selected for their dedication and potential in their respective fields of data engineering, medicine, and software engineering:
- Nisha Khati is focused on becoming a data engineer and is currently enrolled at Sai Vidya Institute of Technology.
- Anchal Mourya is working towards a medical degree at Moti Lal Nehru Medical College Prayagraj, with aspirations to become a cardiothoracic surgeon.
- Bhanu Yadavalli is pursuing software engineering at CMR College of Engineering & Technology.
