United States, December 2025 – Nitin Chawla has been promoted to Senior Director of Product Management at Qualcomm, marking a significant milestone in his nearly two-decade journey with the company. In this elevated role, he will continue to shape Qualcomm’s product vision across advanced connectivity and mobility solutions, with a focus on driving innovation, growth and value across global markets.
At Qualcomm, Nitin Chawla has built an impressive career spanning over 18 years, growing from engineering and technical roles into senior product leadership. Most recently, as Director, Product Management based in San Diego, he led product management for Telematics 4G and 5G connectivity solutions and drove the global 2-wheeler connectivity portfolio, helping automakers and mobility players leverage Qualcomm’s connectivity platforms across diverse markets.
Before that, Nitin served as Director, Product Marketing and Staff Manager – Product Marketing at Qualcomm in Mumbai, where he was responsible for the product portfolio for operators and IoT companies in India. He supported a wide range of product lines including mobile, Wi-Fi, NB-IoT, industrial IoT, small cells, cameras, smart speakers, wearables and consumer connectivity, combining strong business development, sales support and technical acumen to open new business opportunities and deepen customer relationships.
Earlier in his tenure at Qualcomm, he progressed through roles as Senior Staff / Staff / Lead / Senior Engineer in Mumbai, supporting major mobile network operators with engineering services, technology strategy and RFP/RFI guidance. His work included system-level performance evaluation, troubleshooting and support for key projects such as VoLTE IMS IoT, LTE-HSPA network performance assessment and capacity forecasting, CDMA OMH device commercialization and CDMA LBS, building a strong foundation in telecom networks and advanced connectivity solutions.
Prior to joining Qualcomm, Nitin worked as an IT Analyst at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), where he contributed as a Software Architect for CDMA Base Station Controller projects in collaboration with Nortel Networks in Mumbai and Ottawa. He began his career as an Engineer at Idea Cellular Ltd (now Vodafone Idea) as a switch engineer, and as a Senior Software Engineer at Azure Technologies, where he was involved in system specification, development and implementation of a predictive dialer solution using C++ on Intel Dialogic platforms. These early roles built his expertise at the intersection of telecom networks, software engineering and real-world operator environments.
