Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, January 2026 — Prateek Jhawar has taken on a new role as Country Head, MAM Real Assets, India at Macquarie Group. In this position, he will lead Macquarie Asset Management’s real assets platform in India, focusing on investment strategy, growth, and portfolio development across the market.
Prateek joins Macquarie Group after a distinguished 17-year tenure at Avendus, where he served as Managing Director – Investment Banking. At Avendus, he advised on complex transactions across sectors, building deep expertise in corporate finance, investments, and strategic advisory, and establishing strong relationships across India’s financial ecosystem.
Earlier in his career, Prateek worked with ICICI Bank as Product Manager – International FIG, gaining exposure to global financial institutions and cross-border finance. Prior to that, he was part of Tata Power, where he worked in Corporate Finance & Treasury, and began his professional journey at Citibank as an Analyst – Global Corporate & Investment Banking.
With his extensive background spanning investment banking, corporate finance, and real assets, Prateek is well positioned to drive Macquarie Group’s real assets strategy and expansion in India.
