Queens, New York, United States, January 2025 – Priya Mohabir has been promoted to the position of Chief People Officer (CPO) at the New York Hall of Science (NYSCI). In this role, Priya will oversee the organization’s human resources strategy, focusing on fostering an inclusive, high-performing culture that aligns with NYSCI’s mission to inspire creativity and curiosity in STEM learning.
Priya brings over 19 years of dedicated service to NYSCI, most recently serving as the Senior Vice President of Youth Programs and Museum Culture, where she led transformative initiatives that significantly enhanced youth engagement and museum culture. Previously, as the Director of the Alan J. Friedman Center for the Development of Young Scientists, she played a pivotal role in advancing career development programs for aspiring young scientists, ensuring impactful mentorship and experiential learning opportunities.

Her tenure at NYSCI also includes her roles as Manager of Science Career Ladder Institute and Supervisor of Explainer Development, where she developed innovative frameworks for professional development, recruitment, and STEM career pathways. Priya’s journey with NYSCI began as a Science Instructor, where she contributed to curriculum development and facilitated impactful STEM workshops.
