Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, April 2026 — Rakesh Menon has started a new position as AVP – Lending at Paytm, marking an important milestone in his fintech and digital lending leadership journey. His appointment reflects strong experience across payments-based financing, digital lending, enterprise presales, merchant acquisition, and business development, built over years across the financial technology and digital payments ecosystem.
Before joining Paytm, Rakesh Menon served as Chief Manager – Payments Based Financing & Digital Lending at Profectus Capital Pvt. Ltd. In that role, he designed and launched digital credit products for merchants with variable cash flows, including overdraft-linked and revenue-share models. He also led end-to-end LOS-LMS API integrations with payment partners and aggregators to enable real-time underwriting, disbursement, and repayment, while helping improve onboarding, KYC, and disbursal conversion.
Prior to that, he was associated with PayU as Senior Manager – Pre Sales Lead – Enterprise Business, where he helped set up the national presales vertical to support product-led sales across fintech and digital commerce. He also worked closely with GTM and product teams to shape market-fit offerings and improve strategic conversion through merchant persona mapping and product customization.
Earlier, he spent more than three years with Worldline as Business Unit Head – SMB – Direct Acquisitions, where he set up the SMB online payments vertical from scratch and scaled it significantly. Before that, he was associated with KocharTech as Manager – Merchant Acquisition and with SmartConnect Technologies as Assistant Manager Business Development, building strong experience in solution consulting, CX automation, merchant acquisition, and digital commerce partnerships.
In the earlier phase of his professional journey, Rakesh Menon was associated with Access Suites Pvt. Ltd. as Head – Centre Operations and with Regus in roles including Assistant General Manager, Senior Customer Service Representative, and CSE. Together, his experience across Paytm, Profectus Capital Pvt. Ltd., PayU, Worldline, KocharTech, SmartConnect Technologies, Access Suites Pvt. Ltd., and Regus reflects a long and steadily advancing career across lending, payments, merchant ecosystems, and customer-led business operations.
With strong expertise across digital lending, payments, merchant financing, onboarding journeys, and ecosystem partnerships, Rakesh Menon brings a well-rounded and growth-focused profile to his new role. His appointment as AVP – Lending is expected to support Paytm as it continues to strengthen its lending capabilities and financial solutions for merchants and customers.
