Mumbai, India, February 2025 – Rohit Pathak, Chief Executive Officer of the Copper Business at Hindalco Industries Limited, has been appointed as a Board Member at the International Copper Association (ICA). This prestigious role recognizes his exceptional leadership and contributions to the copper industry.
As a Board Member, Rohit will play a pivotal role in guiding global strategies for the copper sector, with a strong focus on sustainability, industry growth, and best practices in copper production. His appointment reinforces his position as a key leader in shaping the future of the industry, ensuring that copper remains an essential material in the evolving energy and infrastructure landscape.

At Hindalco Industries Limited, Rohit has transformed the Copper Business, driving major advancements in production efficiency, sustainability initiatives, and operational excellence. His leadership extends beyond Hindalco, as he serves as President of the Indian Primary Copper Producers Association and Past President of the Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers’ Association (IEEMA).
Previously, Rohit held leadership roles at Aditya Birla Group, including CEO of Aditya Birla Power Composites Ltd and President & CEO of Aditya Birla Insulators. Earlier in his career, he was a Joint President and Principal Executive Assistant to the Chairman at Aditya Birla Group, and he spent over a decade at McKinsey & Co., specializing in strategic leadership and operational excellence.
An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A), Rohit is passionate about mentorship, organizational development, and driving industry-wide transformation. His expertise in copper supply chains and sustainability will be crucial in addressing global challenges and advancing industry best practices.
