Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, January 2025 — Sai Ramana Ponugoti has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Piramal Pharma Ltd’s India Consumer Healthcare Division, effective January 6, 2025. He succeeds Sarosh Shetty, who served as interim CEO. Ponugoti brings over two decades of leadership experience, primarily with Procter & Gamble (P&G), where he held senior leadership roles across India, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
Prior to his appointment at Piramal Pharma, Sai Ramana Ponugoti served as Vice President & Executive Head of Sales at Procter & Gamble, leading a $1.9 billion business across multiple product categories and trade channels in India. His role involved driving commercial strategies and enhancing market leadership.
Before this, he was the Country Manager & Vice President at Procter & Gamble Vietnam, where he played a pivotal role in driving a +1400 bps profit transformation and expanding the company’s market presence into four new categories.
He also held the position of Market Strategy & Planning Leader at Procter & Gamble Switzerland SARL, where he managed a $1.2 billion sales portfolio for the Baby Care category across India, the Middle East, and Africa.
Earlier in his career, he served as Senior Director, Head of Modern Retail, Digital Commerce & Emerging Channels and held multiple leadership roles across P&G’s India and Asia-Pacific markets, focusing on category innovation, market strategy, and leadership development.
