Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, June 2025 – Santosh Kumar Dhanewar has been promoted to Assistant Vice President – Human Resources at Nexus Select Trust. In his expanded role, Santosh will oversee HR responsibilities across the growing portfolio of Nexus malls, driving strategic people initiatives, workforce planning, and operational excellence in alignment with the company’s rapid retail expansion.
Santosh has been with Nexus Select Trust for over seven years, where he most recently served as Head of Human Resources – South Portfolio. In this position, he led HRBP functions for the retail assets across southern India, bringing in people-centric systems, ensuring compliance, and enhancing organizational agility. His contributions have been instrumental in strengthening the HR infrastructure across multiple properties under the Nexus banner.
Before joining Nexus Select Trust, he served as Head of Human Resources – Retail & Hospitality at Prestige Group for nearly three years. In this leadership role, he managed end-to-end HR for a portfolio of 9 operational malls and several upcoming properties across India. He played a pivotal role in transforming HR operations through scalable and sustainable systems and led major organizational restructuring efforts that aligned with business growth.
Earlier, Santosh worked as an HR Advisor and Consultant with multiple startups across India and the MENA region for over three years, covering Qatar, UAE, Oman, Bahrain, and Egypt. His consulting projects ranged from HR transformation and succession planning to performance management, total rewards, and organization design. His work with reputed organizations such as the International Tire Center (Qatar) and other e-commerce and retail ventures made a tangible impact on performance and profitability.
Prior to that, he held the role of Regional HR Head at Bata India Limited for over three years, where he oversaw HR and Industrial Relations across South and West India. With responsibility for over 600 stores and thousands of employees, he managed talent development, manpower optimization, and strategic HR interventions for large-scale retail operations.
Earlier in his career, Santosh also worked with Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories as HR Business Partner and with Choice Solutions, Inc., where he managed HR for software and infrastructure teams in India. His early experience laid a strong foundation for his later success as a retail HR leader.
