Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, December 2025 – Shekhar Asnani has been elevated to the role of Director – Investment Banking at Jefferies, marking a key progression in his investment banking career. Based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, he will continue to focus on Equity Capital Markets, working closely with clients on complex capital-raising and strategic market transactions while contributing to Jefferies’ growing franchise in India and beyond.
At Jefferies, Shekhar Asnani has progressed from Vice President – Investment Banking to Director – Investment Banking in under two years, reflecting the firm’s confidence in his ability to deliver value in fast-paced and high-stakes capital markets. In his earlier role as Vice President, he focused on Equity Capital Markets, supporting issuers and stakeholders across a range of transactions and building a strong base of issuer and investor relationships that now underpin his expanded leadership mandate.
Prior to joining Jefferies, Shekhar Asnani spent almost nine years with ICICI Securities in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, steadily growing through roles as Investment Banking Associate, Investment Banking Senior Associate, Assistant Vice President and Vice President. Across these positions, he worked hands-on in capital markets, combining project management and data analysis capabilities to support capital-raising, advisory assignments and execution excellence for clients across sectors. His experience at ICICI Securities helped him develop a strong command over deal lifecycle management and the nuances of Indian capital markets.
Earlier in his career, Shekhar Asnani worked for nearly four years as Manager – Finance at Snowman Logistics Limited in Bangalore, where he was involved in a broad spectrum of strategic and financial responsibilities. His role spanned long-term funding initiatives such as IPO, pre-IPO placements, external commercial borrowings, bridge loans and bank financing, along with financial modelling, reporting, budgeting, working capital management and profitability analysis for new projects. This combination of corporate finance and capital-raising exposure laid a strong foundation for his subsequent shift into full-time investment banking.
