City of Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa, March 2025 – Shiksha Ramgovind has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer: Digital and Change at Absa Group. With an extensive career in financial leadership and strategic business transformation, she will play a critical role in driving financial strategy and overseeing digital transformation initiatives within the group.
Shiksha Ramgovind has been with Absa Group for over ten years, holding leadership roles across multiple business divisions. Prior to her new role, she served as Chief Financial Officer: Absa Unsecured Lending, where she played a key role in financial strategy, business transformation, and value creation initiatives.
Earlier, she held the position of Head of Finance (Senior Finance Business Partner) for Asset Management – Investment Cluster, where she was responsible for financial analysis, investment decision-making, and leading financial strategies for the cluster. She also played an integral role in strategic initiatives, including the partial sale of Absa’s Investment Management entities, and provided critical financial due diligence support.
Before stepping into leadership roles at Absa, she was a Senior Financial Manager (Financial Controller) for Wealth and Investment Management, overseeing financial reporting, risk mitigation, and process optimization for Absa Wealth.
Prior to her tenure at Absa, she gained extensive experience in financial governance and risk management as Group Internal Auditor at WesBank (FirstRand Bank Limited), where she led disruptive process improvements and regulatory compliance audits. She also spent over three years at Deloitte, completing her chartered accounting articles and serving as an Audit Senior, including an international secondment to Deloitte Dubai.
