Pune, Maharashtra, India, October 2025 — Shubhankar Chatterji has joined the Advisory Board – PGPEX Leadership in Smart Manufacturing at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sirmaur, marking another distinguished milestone in his remarkable leadership journey. In this role, he will contribute his strategic insights and deep industry experience to guide the institute’s academic direction and leadership development initiatives in the evolving landscape of smart manufacturing.
Shubhankar currently serves as the Chief Supply Chain Officer at Cummins India and as a Member of the Board of Directors at Valvoline Cummins Pvt. Ltd. India, where he continues to drive innovation, operational excellence, and transformation across manufacturing and supply chain ecosystems. With over three decades of experience, he has been at the forefront of shaping India’s industrial and manufacturing sectors through visionary leadership and process excellence.
Before joining Cummins India, Shubhankar held several key leadership positions, including Chief Supply Chain Officer at Schindler India, President – Manufacturing and SCM at Greaves Cotton Limited, and Director – Manufacturing & Supply Chain for the Engine Business at Tata Cummins Limited. His tenure at these organizations was defined by significant contributions to capacity expansion, lean operations, vendor development, and strategic sourcing, alongside his leadership in people development and cross-functional collaboration.
An accomplished engineering professional with an MTech in Mechanical Engineering and a BE in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur, Shubhankar also holds an MBA from the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University, and has been a Research Scholar in Operations and Supply Chain at the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode. His academic excellence, combined with his Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification, underscores his commitment to data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
