In her new role, Somasree will spearhead strategic business initiatives, brand acceleration, innovation, and category leadership for Milton, one of the most trusted homeware brands in the country.
Prior to joining Hamilton, Somasree Bose Awasthi served as an Independent Consultant, working with small and medium enterprises on marketing strategy, innovation pipelines, and long-term brand building. Her deep industry expertise has helped brands lay the foundation for sustainable growth and consumer-centric innovation.
Before her consulting stint, she held the role of Chief Marketing Officer at Marico Limited, where she led transformative brand repositioning and innovation across key portfolios. Under her leadership, Marico achieved historical market share highs through breakthrough campaigns on brands like Parachute, Livon, and Saffola. She also led Marico’s expansion into baby care and international brand portfolios in India, and institutionalized high-impact marketing processes including Market Mix Modelling and NPD funnel management.
Somasree spent over 15 years at Godrej Consumer Products Limited, rising through the ranks to become Chief Marketing Officer (India). She is credited with launching several pathbreaking products like Godrej Protekt Mr. Magic (India’s first powder-to-liquid handwash) and the complete Cinthol Male Grooming Range. Her award-winning campaigns for Godrej Aer and Cinthol won multiple accolades, including EFFIES and Godrej Group Innovation Awards. Recognized in the Impact Top 50 Women in Media, Marketing & Advertising (2019) and the Women Ahead List by Economic Times (2017), she is widely respected as a visionary marketer and innovation champion.
She began her career in sales and marketing at Godrej Sara Lee Ltd., managing field operations in West Bengal before progressing to national brand roles for HIT and JET in the household insecticides segment.
