Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India, January 2026 — Sriram Ramanujam has started a new role as Principal Officer & Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Muthoot Risk Insurance and Broking Services Pvt. Ltd. (MRIBS). In this expanded leadership position, he will be responsible for driving operational excellence, strengthening partnerships, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the company’s growth ambitions in the insurance and financial services ecosystem.
In his current role at MRIBS, Sriram is focused on building stronger partnerships and making financial protection more accessible. His responsibilities span operational efficiency, growth initiatives, compliance management, and enabling teams to deliver seamless and reliable customer experiences, while also introducing innovative solutions across insurance and financial services.
Prior to this appointment, Sriram spent nearly seven years with IndusInd Bank, where he most recently served as Vice President & Head – Product & Strategy, Bancassurance (CFD). In this role, he led product strategy, bancassurance initiatives, regulatory alignment, and cross-functional execution. Earlier at IndusInd Bank, he also held the position of Deputy Vice President & Head – Claims, overseeing claims, product, and compliance functions.
Before IndusInd Bank, he was associated with Acko as Head – Claims Transformation & Digital Projects, where he played a key role in digital transformation, claims automation, and partner integrations. His earlier career includes a long and impactful tenure at SBI General Insurance, where he held multiple leadership roles including National Head – Claims IT, BI and Governance, Head – OEM Claims, and Regional Supply Chain Head, contributing to large-scale claims modernization and operational governance.
Sriram also brings prior experience from ICICI Lombard as Area Head – Claims, and from the automotive sector with Honda Cars – TVS Sundaram Motors, where he served as Deputy Technical Officer, building strong foundations in operations and technical processes.
With over two decades of experience across insurance, bancassurance, digital transformation, claims management, and operations, Sriram Ramanujam’s appointment is expected to further strengthen MRIBS’s leadership team and support its mission of delivering cost-effective, reliable, and customer-centric insurance solutions.
