Stefaan brings extensive international experience in risk leadership, most recently serving at Visa, where he spent over nine years in senior roles across Europe, the United States, and Asia. As SVP and Regional Chief Risk Officer for Asia Pacific, he led risk strategy across diverse markets, worked closely with regulators and clients, and drove the deployment of AI-enabled risk capabilities while overseeing network security responsibilities.

During his tenure at Visa, Stefaan D’Hoore held multiple senior leadership roles. He served as SVP, Corporate & Ecosystem Risk Management, where he led the development of enterprise-wide risk programs, including ecosystem risk frameworks and compliance standards. Earlier, as SVP, Corporate Risk Management, he led global second-line risk functions covering technology, operational, compliance, and model risk, while strengthening governance and regulatory engagement worldwide.

Prior to Visa, Stefaan built a strong foundation during his nearly two-decade tenure at GE Capital, where he rose to become Chief Operating Officer of Risk Management. In this role, he led strategy and operations across multiple markets, enhancing risk capabilities and supporting evolving regulatory standards. He also held several leadership roles including Chief Risk Officer positions across regions, contributing to enterprise risk frameworks, underwriting, and large-scale business integrations.

Earlier in his career, he began as a Relationship Manager at J.P. Morgan, working with global custody clients and gaining foundational experience in financial services and client relationship management.

Stefaan holds a Master of Laws (LLM) from KU Leuven and an MBA from Vlerick Business School, reflecting a strong blend of legal and business expertise.

With over three decades of experience across global financial services, payments, and risk management, Stefaan brings deep expertise in governance, regulatory compliance, and digital risk transformation to his new role.
