Prior to joining Colorado State University, Hua served at the Community College of Aurora, where she notably led the institution’s DEI efforts as the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Her responsibilities included overseeing the Cultural Center, creating a space that champions diversity and inclusion across the campus. Before ascending to directorship, she managed college readiness programs and coordinated learning communities, demonstrating her dedication to fostering educational success among diverse student populations.

Hua’s earlier experiences at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and the University of San Francisco further solidified her expertise in residence life and student affairs, where she was instrumental in creating supportive and inclusive living-learning environments. Her tenure at these institutions underscored her commitment to enhancing student engagement and success through targeted DEI initiatives.

Colorado State University, founded in 1870, stands as a beacon of academic excellence and innovation. Renowned for its research prowess in areas such as infectious disease, atmospheric science, clean energy technologies, and environmental science, the university attracts significant research funding and hosts a vibrant community of scholars and students committed to making a difference.

In her role as Director of DEI Education, Hua is tasked with leading the university’s efforts to integrate diversity, equity, and inclusion into all facets of campus life.
