Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, April 2025 – Susan Kavanagh has taken on the role of Head of Human Resources at Applus+, a global leader in testing, inspection, and certification. In her new role, Susan will lead HR initiatives to support operational excellence across the organization’s Ireland operations while contributing to the company’s global people strategy.
Susan most recently served as Head of Human Resources at Turas Mobility Services Ltd, where she played an instrumental role in setting up the company and led the HR function through the project and stabilization phases. Her focus on onboarding under TUPE regulations, developing performance and training frameworks, and enhancing staff engagement and wellbeing were crucial to the organization’s success over a six-year period.
Prior to Turas, Susan worked as HR Manager at Chemsource, where she established the entire HR function for a growing company with multiple sites. She was a part of the senior management team and was responsible for building robust HR processes across recruitment, training, industrial relations, and compliance, thereby aligning HR strategy with business objectives.
Susan also held key HR roles at Nypro Ireland, MCI Group, and The Panel, where she demonstrated her expertise in HR business partnering, learning and development, and policies and procedures. These roles further developed her capabilities in compensation, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
Earlier in her career, Susan managed payroll and HR functions at Acquired Brain Injury Ireland, Vodafone Ireland, and Home Instead Senior Care. She consistently improved payroll systems and implemented procedures that enhanced operational efficiency and staff satisfaction. Her contributions included cost control, process optimization, and benefits communication.
Susan began her HR journey with senior roles at White Young Green Ireland, Invesco, and Anglo Irish Bank, where she developed and managed comprehensive HR programs. She established mentoring and induction programs, implemented flexi-benefits, and played a key role in HR transformation initiatives that supported company-wide goals.
