Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, June 2026 — Zepto has announced the appointment of Sushant S. as Director & India Head – People Experience, Workforce Governance, Enterprise Transformation & Ops Strategy, bringing onboard a seasoned people and transformation leader with extensive experience in workforce strategy, organizational transformation, employee relations, governance, and large-scale operations management across consumer technology, e-commerce, FMCG, retail, and manufacturing sectors.
In his new role, Sushant will lead one of the largest workforce ecosystems in India, overseeing people experience, workforce governance, enterprise transformation, and operations strategy across Zepto’s rapidly expanding business. His mandate spans a workforce ecosystem of more than 300,000 personnel, including over 50,000 associates and 250,000 riders, while supporting operations across more than 1,000 stores and facilities nationwide. He will also partner closely with business, technology, legal, compliance, and operational leadership teams to drive organizational effectiveness and workforce excellence.
Prior to joining Zepto, Sushant served as Head of People (Vice President) – India at Diestic Technologies Private Limited, where he built and scaled the human resources function for a fast-growing rural e-commerce business. During his tenure, he led enterprise-wide people transformation initiatives, workforce expansion strategies, capability-building programs, compensation frameworks, and HR digitization efforts that supported significant organizational growth and operational scalability.
Before Diestic Technologies, he held senior HR leadership positions with Nestlé India and Amazon. At Nestlé, he served as Head HR – FMCG Retail & Nutrition, East India, leading people strategy for a large distributed workforce and driving talent, capability, engagement, and organizational effectiveness initiatives. At Amazon, he was HR Lead North and India Employee Relations & Compliance Lead, overseeing people strategy, workforce governance, compliance, employee experience, and talent management across large-scale operations and workforce ecosystems.
Earlier in his career, Sushant spent nearly six years with ITC Limited, where he led HR business partnering initiatives for major business units and manufacturing operations. His experience also includes assignments with Tata Motors, Tata Steel, and T.I.M.E., providing him with a diverse foundation in organizational effectiveness, talent management, workforce planning, and operational leadership. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for driving large-scale transformation, strengthening organizational culture, and aligning people strategies with business growth.
