Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, August 2026 — Telstra has appointed Fiona Vines as Global Head of Inclusion and Diversity, reinforcing its commitment to building an inclusive workplace as it continues to strengthen trust, drive innovation, and shape the future of connectivity. In her new role, Fiona will lead Telstra’s global inclusion and diversity strategy, partnering with business leaders to foster an equitable, inclusive, and high-performing culture that supports the company’s people, customers, and long-term growth ambitions.
With more than 30 years of experience across inclusion and diversity, organizational transformation, human resources, leadership development, change management, and workforce strategy, Fiona Vines is widely recognized as one of the leading voices in workplace inclusion and cultural transformation. Her appointment reflects Telstra’s continued investment in creating an inclusive organization where diverse talent can thrive and innovation can flourish.
Prior to joining Telstra, Fiona Vines served as Chief Inclusion, Equity & Diversity Officer at BT Group, where she led the company’s global inclusion, equity, diversity, and wellbeing agenda during a significant digital transformation. Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, she partnered with business leaders to remove structural barriers, strengthen inclusive leadership, and align diversity strategies with broader business objectives. During her tenure, she introduced progressive family and carers’ leave policies, implemented voluntary ethnicity pay gap reporting, strengthened disability inclusion, launched social mobility initiatives, and led company-wide programs focused on preventing workplace sexual harassment.
Earlier, Fiona spent nearly seven years with BHP, serving as Global Head of Inclusion & Diversity and Workforce Transition and previously as Head of Inclusion & Diversity. She played a pivotal role in advancing BHP’s ambitious gender balance agenda, helping the global resources company increase female representation across its workforce from 17% to 43%, while embedding inclusive leadership practices and workforce transition strategies across its international operations.
Before BHP, Fiona built an extensive 11-year career with ANZ, holding a series of senior leadership roles including Flexibility, Diversity & Inclusion Lead, Head of Inclusion and Change, Head of Enterprise Learning, Group Head of Graduate & Generalist Banker Programs, Senior Manager – Product Partners (Small Business), and HR Business Partner. She began her professional journey with Bankwest, where she spent eight years developing her expertise in human resources and organizational development.
