Columbus, Georgia, United States, July 2026 — Aflac has promoted Tera Ladner to Senior Vice President & Global Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), recognizing her exceptional leadership in advancing the company’s global cybersecurity, information governance, and enterprise risk management capabilities. In her expanded leadership role, Tera will lead Aflac’s global information security strategy, overseeing security governance, cyber risk management, regulatory compliance, data protection, and enterprise resilience across Aflac US, Aflac Japan, Aflac Re Bermuda, and Aflac Northern Ireland.
As Global CISO, she is responsible for the overall strategy, budgeting, planning, governance, and execution of Aflac’s comprehensive global information security program. She also chairs enterprise security oversight committees comprising leaders from business, technology, legal, compliance, privacy, human resources, and physical security, ensuring that cybersecurity remains tightly aligned with business objectives while strengthening resilience against an evolving global threat landscape.
Prior to this promotion, Tera served as Deputy Global Chief Information Security Officer, where she played a pivotal role in strengthening enterprise-wide cybersecurity governance, security operations, and risk management across Aflac’s international businesses. Earlier, she served as Global Practice Lead & Vice President – Information Risk Management and Governance, leading global security governance, enterprise risk management, privacy, regulatory compliance, data classification, third-party risk management, and information governance initiatives.
She originally joined Aflac as Director – Information Governance, where she established and strengthened global frameworks for information lifecycle management, data privacy, records governance, and regulatory compliance across multiple international jurisdictions.
Before joining Aflac, Tera spent nearly six years with SunTrust Bank as Group Vice President – Corporate Records & Information Management, where she led enterprise-wide data governance modernization initiatives and helped build scalable information management capabilities supporting regulatory compliance and operational efficiency. Earlier, she held leadership positions at Snapping Shoals Electric Membership Corporation and GreyStone Power Corporation, where she successfully established enterprise information governance programs, records management frameworks, and data governance strategies.
