Colombo, Sri Lanka, March 2026 – Thilanka Jayathilaka has taken on a new role as Vice President HR – Sri Lanka, India and Global Operations at IFS, marking a significant step forward in his leadership journey within the organization.
Thilanka has been with IFS for over five years, progressing through key leadership roles including Human Resources Director and most recently Vice President Human Resources. In his expanded role, he will lead HR strategy across Sri Lanka and India while also supporting global operations, driving talent, culture, and organizational transformation initiatives aligned with IFS’s global growth agenda.
Prior to IFS, Thilanka held senior HR leadership roles within the Fonterra ecosystem, including Associate Director Human Resources at Fonterra Brands Sri Lanka and Head of Human Resources at Fonterra Future Dairy India, where he led HR strategy across markets and supported business expansion.
Earlier, he spent nearly seven years with Unilever, where he progressed across multiple HR roles including Human Resources Business Partner for Marketing, Supply Chain, and Capability functions. During this period, he drove talent strategy, organizational effectiveness initiatives, and leadership capability development across business units.
He began his career journey with AIESEC, where he held leadership roles including Vice President Talent Management and President – AIESEC University of Kelaniya, building early expertise in talent development and leadership.
With deep experience spanning global HR strategy, organizational development, and capability building, Thilanka brings a strong leadership foundation to drive IFS’s people agenda across regions and global operations.
